The Spirit of Budo: Exhibition of the History of Japan’s Martial Arts

Students on Thursday drew still life objects which have been displayed at an exhibition titled “The Spirit of Budo: Exhibition of the History of Japan’s Martial Arts”.

The exhibition was organised by the Embassy of Japan in collaboration with the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on the occasion of the prize distribution ceremony of the ‘Still Life Art Competition’.

Embassy of Japan Public Affairs Section Counsellor Toshikazu Isomura, along with RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed, awarded prizes and certificates to the participants.

Many students participated in this art competition and drew eye-catching objects depicting the history of Japan’s martial arts.

Renowned artist, Fouzia Minhala, judged the paintings and 13 students, out of 109 entries, were awarded prizes in four categories. Isomura praised the students’ talent and said that art and culture exchanges could bring the two countries closer. He also thanked the RAC for extending full cooperation.

Ahmed said that owing to diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Japan, the RAC had always facilitated the embassy in promoting cultural activities in the Potohar region.
